Get Set Ready: Ahead of the curve on Access Coordinators

Training, challenges, and ultimate importance of rolling out Access Coordinators in productions

Date & Time: 6 December 2022, 2:30pm

Venue: Room B

Moderator: Jacqui Taunton Fenton - Senior HETV Training Liaison Manager, ScreenSkills

Abbie Hills - Talent Agent/Access Coordinator

Sara Johnson - Founder/Executive Producer, Bridge06

The session will talk about the training, challenges, and ultimate importance of rolling out Access Coordinators across the whole production landscape.

"Access coordinators are long overdue - a fifth of the population are disabled and, as the Creative Diversity Network figures show, that number is not reflected in the make-up of TV professionals. Intimacy and Covid coordinators have lit the path for positions like these to be recognised as essential. We must tell more disabled stories and we must empower more disabled people to tell them. The role of accessibility coordinator is vital, and will support both busy productions and the industry in making the changes needed." Jack Thorne, Writer

This session will have a BSL interpreter.
